About This Content

September 1st, 1939
Germany launches its military invasion of Poland, igniting World War 2. Take command of the Blitzkrieg’s spearhead as you battle your way to the heart of the Polish nation, the Capitol of Warsaw, and beyond. This DLC features 14 all new scenarios, improved artificial intelligence scripting, new campaign features, unique objectives such as protecting vital units, destroying enemy supply trains, and securing vital bridges, and the capacity to save your core force file for use in future campaigns!

The Grand Campaign’s are a series of expansions for Panzer Corps. Each campaign can be started with the core force from the previous Grand Campaign, so you can continue Grand Campaign ’40 with your core force that completed Grand Campaign ’39. Alternatively players can start with a preset core force and play each campaign on its own, or jump in to the Grand Campaign at any year.

This expansion starts your core from the very beginning of the war, allowing you maximum flexibility to choose and shape the forces that you will take through the next 6 years. The full Grand Campaign from 1939-1945 will have around 70 scenarios!

A great campaign depicting Fall Weiss, the invasion of Poland from the Germans.. VERY stronk campaign! Buy NOW!. Panzer Corps: Grand Campaign '39 is the first of the grand campaign DLCs for Panzer Corps. Like the other Grand Campaign DLCs, it focuses on a specific time period of the war, here 1939 and early 1940, seen from the perspective of the German forces.

I'm going to assume that anyone reading this review is already familiar with the core game. The DLC does not change any of the core mechanics, so anyone who enjoys the main game is likely to enjoy this DLC, and anyone who did not like the core game won't change their mind after having played this. What changes to the mechanics that does exist are minor.

Grand Campaign '39 has a grand total of 14 scenarios, though at 3 points during the campaign, your actions will determine which scenario you'll play, so a playtrough will only be of 11-12 scenarios. The scenarios hold a very high quality, greater than that of the core game, and offer a good amount of variety. During the invasion of Poland you'll have to deal with mostly open or hilly terrain, and the levels offers many different approaches. The last 3 levels, which take place in Norway, are more narrow, and you can't advance as fast due to both water and mountains being in the way.
The scenario are also designed in such a way that it shows that the Polish army was not helpless, and it does not perpetuate the myth of the Polish cavalry charging tanks with their swords or lances because they thought they were trucks with planks on them (this myth actually started as German propaganda, that was meant to show their "superiority", and for some reason it's still something that kids learn in school).

Final Thought<\/b>
Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Panzer Corps. You get 14 well designed scenarios for 5\u20ac, and your save carries over to the next DLC, Grand Campaign '40.
. After many late nights and weekends, I finally finished the vanilla game on the US West Coast map. Just when I was about to enjoy sleep again, I stumble across this Grand Campaign which takes my vanilla addiction and amps it up to higher levels of amphetamines than consumed by German forces during the panic of D-Day.

The ability to import my core units during all subsequent DLC (German WW2 war years) makes my bed wonder if I still exist...
